Big Brother 28 Spoilers: Weekend Roundup – Devens Takes Control, Rome’s Game Suddenly Hangs by a Thread

The Big Brother house is moving fast, and these Houseguests are wasting no time delivering twists, tension, and pure chaos this early in the season. At this point, if anyone reminds them this is only week two of a long game, the pace might actually get even more intense.

Since Thursday’s episode, spoilers and results have piled up, and now we’re catching you up on everything that has happened so far on BB28. If you prefer the televised surprises, now is the moment to stop reading. If you want the full picture, keep going — because the week is already heating up.

Head of Household:

Dee entered the week coming off the eviction of Ashley, and while the move wasn’t especially explosive, it did keep the house relatively calm. That calm? It did not last long. Now the real game is beginning to crack wide open.

Carrying on the Survivor-style streak, Devens won his way into the HOH room and seized control of Week 2. Devens is exactly the kind of player who loves to stir the pot, and it took almost no time before he targeted someone far bigger than an Ashley-level pawn. Rome should absolutely be watching his back.

And yes, Devens has Rome in his sights — but he’s planning to take the more strategic route with a Backdoor play this week. It’s a classic Big Brother move, and one that could completely flip the house if it lands.

Time Capsule:

Before nominations could even happen, Big Brother unveiled the result of the viewer vote for the Time Capsule challenge, giving one Houseguest a shot at a power or a punishment. Angela won the vote, but that’s where the good news ended.

Unfortunately for her, Angela did not succeed in the challenge, which means she ended up with a punishment from the past instead of a prize. And yes, that means the return of the hard-boiled egg detective twist from last season with Vince. We’ll still have to wait to see what Angela would have received had she completed the task successfully.

Nominations:

After the Time Capsule setback, Devens moved forward with nominations — but the house was clearly ready to explode on its own. During the nominations meeting, the HGs lined up to air complaints as if it were Festivus in the middle of July. Rome went after Haley, Angela fired back at Jason, and Jason made sure to return the favor.

Fortunately for feed watchers, production let us see plenty of the argument and the fallout, though it was obvious there was even more that happened before the feeds came back. Expect the full aftermath to surface in either Sunday’s or Wednesday’s episode later this week.

As for the actual nominations, Devens nominated Jason, Lyric, and Melody as his Block pawns, but make no mistake: the real plan remains a Backdoor strike against Rome.

Power of Veto Comp:

If a Backdoor is the goal, the last thing you want is your target in the Veto comp. And in a lucky break for Devens, Rome’s chip was not pulled. Instead, Angela and Barrett joined Devens and the three nominees in the arena.

In the end, Devens won the Veto medallion, giving him his second competition win of the season. That’s especially notable considering he almost grabbed the first HOH before his puzzle collapse. At this point, Devens is proving he knows exactly how to play for power.

With the Veto now in his hands, Devens has full control over what happens next, and that makes the upcoming ceremony even more nerve-racking for everyone else in the house.

Veto Ceremony:

The fallout from the Veto meeting will play out Monday afternoon, and right now the house seems split on what Devens will actually do.

Overnight, Lyric reassured Rome that the nominations would stay the same, while also pitching Devens to save her. Devens appeared to consider that option, but Kamu later reminded him that keeping Lyric on the Block may be the smarter route for now, with Melody being the better person to pull down. From the outside, that logic makes sense — but inside the house, nothing is ever that simple.

Whatever happens will be revealed by Monday midday, and that will set the stage for Thursday’s Block Buster competition ahead of the live vote. The biggest question now is simple: can Rome survive this Backdoor threat, or is his game about to take a major hit?
