Here we go with the first fan-vote twist of the Big Brother 28 season. CBS is calling it the “BB Time Capsule,” and even with the early details, it already feels like the kind of twist that could send the house into chaos.
Each week, viewers will get to vote and send one Houseguest into a special competition where they could land a power — or something much worse. Yes, that means a “win” can still turn into a punishment. Since this is a throwback to some of Big Brother’s most infamous past punishments, fans should expect old-school misery: think unitards, tethered challenges, or exhausting backyard tasks that force a HG to grind through a timed mission just to survive it.
There’s a catch that makes this even more intense: once a Houseguest is picked in a given week, they’re removed from the running for every future round of the Time Capsule twist. In other words, timing matters, and one bad round could mean missing the only shot at a huge advantage. If the prize pool and punishment pool are both limited, the strategy gets messy fast — especially if the early rounds lean too heavily toward one side. At that point, the remaining players may be forced to sweat every vote like it’s their last chance.
You can vote at CBS’s website here with 5 votes per day, plus the opportunity to add more each day. The voting window runs through Friday morning, so anyone targeting a player on the block should pay close attention. The winner of this first round will not face the Time Capsule until after the next eviction, and once voting closes Friday, the selected HG is expected to be pulled for their off-site competition later that afternoon in the show’s “Big Brother basement” location.
