Rick Devens Stays on Top in Big Brother 28 Week 3 — But a Newbie Is Climbing Fast
Fan favorites are starting to find their footing in the Big Brother 28 House but after just two weeks there is still a lot of time for HGs to rise and fall for viewers. Keep in mind we have just over two months until the season finale on Thursday, October 1st (8/7c for 90-minute show) and much can change between now and then. But let’s look at that now part.
The Vets Are Still Running the Polls
Three weeks into Big Brother 28, and the fan votes are telling a familiar story: the returning players are winning the popularity battle just as convincingly as they’ve been winning the game.
Rick Devens held onto the top spot through Week 2, pulling in 25.8% of the vote — a commanding lead that no other houseguest came close to. Dee followed at 15.5%, a slight dip from the previous week but still a strong second-place finish. The pair swapped spots from Week 1, which tracks: whoever holds the HoH tends to get a slight dip as they absorb the heat that comes with power.
Drew climbed from 4th to 3rd with 13.5% of the vote. Angela held steady at 5th with 5.8%. That’s four of the five top spots going to veterans — and it shows no signs of changing anytime soon.
The Biggest Mover: Rome’s Dramatic Rise
The real story of Week 2 wasn’t who stayed at the top — it was who launched themselves into the conversation from almost nowhere.
Rome went from 12th place in Week 1 all the way to 4th in Week 2, grabbing 10% of the fan vote. That kind of jump doesn’t happen by coincidence. It happened because Rome’s fight to stay in the game got a massive spotlight on the show, and viewers responded. When you’re on the block and refusing to go quietly, people pay attention.
The flip side of Rome’s rise? Mallory paid for it. She dropped from 3rd all the way to 6th — losing the ground she’d gained early without picking up the dramatic storyline that Rome had to earn his support.

Who’s Sitting at the Bottom
Among the currently active houseguests, three names are fighting for fan support they haven’t yet found.
Haley sits at the very bottom at 0.8%, down two spots from last week’s already-low position. Yash holds second-to-last at 1.03%, unchanged. Chuk comes in third from the bottom at 1.06% after dropping one spot. Taylor managed to move up enough to clear the basement, which gave Haley the last-place slot.
Whether any of them can turn around their fan perception before the season finale on October 1st remains to be seen. Two months is a long time in this game.
The Time Capsule Connection
There’s a direct link between these poll numbers and what happens inside the house. Devens secured the second Time Capsule power in Week 3, continuing the pattern that started when Angela claimed the first one in Week 2.
If Dee continues to hold her current voter share into Week 4, she becomes the logical next candidate. The Vets are stacking advantages on top of advantages — in the game, in the fan vote, and now in powers.
The question for the rest of the season is whether any of the Newbies can generate enough of a storyline to close the gap. Rome proved it’s possible. Now the rest of the cast needs to figure out how he did it.
