Big Brother 28 just got a whole lot more dangerous for one houseguest in particular. After winning the Week 2 Head of Household competition, Rick Devens has now secured the Power of Veto as well — giving him unprecedented control over this week’s game. The HOH and Veto in the same hands means only one thing: whatever Devens wants to happen this week, will happen.

Who Competed — and Who Won

Six houseguests battled it out in the Veto competition: Rick Devens (HOH), Jason De Puy, Lyric Medeiros, Melody Morris, Barrett Pfeiffer, and Angela Murray. Devens came out on top, cementing his position as the week’s most powerful player.

His original nominations were Jason, Lyric, and Melody — with Melody serving as a pawn while Rome remained the real target sitting safely off the block. That plan is now very much alive.

The Backdoor Plan: Will Devens Pull the Trigger?

With the Veto in hand, Devens has the option to take one of his current nominees off the block and replace them with Rome. His alliance — The Toolshed — has already agreed this is the move. The question is whether Devens will follow through or get cold feet at the ceremony.

Rome has a deal with Devens, and he’s been working every angle to stay safe. But Devens himself said it best earlier this week: “I thrive in chaos.” Fans are buzzing. “Devens is playing an incredible game,” one viewer wrote. “If he pulls off this backdoor, it could define the whole season,” said another.

What Comes Next

The Veto Ceremony will determine Rome’s fate. If Devens uses the Veto on one of his nominees and backdoors Rome, the target will then need to survive the BB Blockbuster competition before facing the house vote. Big Brother 28 is building toward what could be its most dramatic eviction night yet.
