EXCLUSIVE: Big Brother Producers Accused of Favoring Three Houseguests — and Insiders Say It’s No Accident the Ratings Are Soaring
Big Brother producers 'favor' three houseguests & credit stars for high ratings
The Season That’s Breaking Records — and the Claims Behind the Numbers
Big Brother 28 is performing better than anyone publicly predicted. Ratings are up. Social media engagement is soaring. Viewers are voting for the Time Capsule in numbers that CBS executives are calling unprecedented. And internally, the word being used is “seven-year high.”
But sources close to the production are now suggesting that the season’s success didn’t build itself entirely on merit — and they’re pointing directly at three names: Rick Devens, Dee Valladares, and Angela Murray.
What the Insider Actually Said
“They credit the ratings to a number of factors, the cast being the biggest one. And in particular, the reality TV veterans,” a source told The U.S. Sun. “They knew bringing in two popular Survivor players and one of the most controversial Big Brother alums would stir up chatter, but it’s gotten the engagement back tenfold.”
Devens is a Survivor fan favorite who came close to winning his original season. Dee Valladares won Survivor 45. Angela Murray is one of Big Brother’s most polarizing returnees. Together, the three have dominated screen time, strategic discussion and live feed activity since the season launched.
The source went further — and this is where the claims get uncomfortable. They alleged that while production cannot directly interfere with competition outcomes, there are “loopholes” that have worked in the veterans’ favor.
“Like determining the speed of the spinning chair when Devens won the Diamond Power of Veto or turning a blind eye when Dee ate real food when she was a Have-Not,” the insider claimed. “Production sees everything, so if they don’t act on something, it’s a choice.”
The Dee Controversy That Fans Were Already Talking About
The allegation about Dee isn’t coming from nowhere. Last week, fans flooded social media with footage of Dee eating snacks that belonged to Kamu Kirk — despite being on the restricted Have-Not diet of slop and cold approved foods.
The backlash was significant. Viewers demanded consequences. Many argued she should have received a penalty nomination or some form of official warning. Instead: nothing happened. Dee remained in the game, continued dominating the strategic conversation, and moved forward without any official response from production.
In isolation, that could be oversight. In context of the broader claims being made now, it reads differently.
CBS Is “Over the Moon” — But the Questions Won’t Go Away
The source was effusive about the season’s commercial performance. “The ratings are killing it but not just the ratings, the engagement this season has been unprecedented. The amount of people voting for the Time Capsule, the amount of comments and participation from the audience is nearing when the show was at its peak. Definitely the highest performing season overall since before the pandemic.”
CBS has not responded to requests for comment on the specific claims about production favoritism.
For viewers who have been watching Devens, Dee, and Angela dominate Week 3 — with Angela’s Inspector Egg storyline getting significant airtime and Dee continuing to run strategy from the center of the house — the allegations will land differently depending on how much faith you have in the show’s integrity.
What It Means for the Remaining Houseguests
If the claims are accurate, the implications for other players are real. Houseguests who have been fighting every week without a built-in structural advantage are doing so on a harder difficulty setting than the veterans — and they may not know it.
Whether or not production is consciously tipping the scales, the perception of favoritism now exists. And in a game where trust and paranoia already define every conversation, perception is almost as powerful as fact.
