Her departure shifts the narrative weight back onto the characters whose lives she helped turn upside down. Charity faces the aftermath of Mack’s exit alone. The truth about Leyla is still circling, waiting to land on Sarah and Jacob. Ross Barton is critically injured. And Serena’s unanswered questions about John Sugdan remain just that — unanswered, at least for now.
Whether she returns, and whether the full truth of what she was actually looking for ever comes out, is something Emmerdale is very deliberately leaving open. Which means this exit feels less like a goodbye and more like an intermission.
