How Big Brother producers are ‘pushing’ two houseguests to have full-blown showmance after Rome and Lyric’s evictions
BIG Brother producers want to turn up the heat on two houseguests in a bid to spark the season’s next showmance following the brutal exits of Lyric and Rome.
The latest lovebirds have been getting increasingly cozy inside the house, with viewers convinced there is something brewing between them – and now a source claims producers are keen to fan those flames.
The U.S. Sun can reveal that producers are allegedly “pushing” for Drew and Melody to become a full-blown couple after the shocking back-to-back departures of the season’s first showmance.
“The producers are thirsty for a showmance now that Lyric and Rome are both gone and desperately want Melody and Drew to become an item,” the source claimed.
“It’s good for ratings and it’s good for audience engagement for at least one showmance to be brewing at all times within the game.
“This one is more of a slow burn so producers know it could be even more captivating than Lyric and Rome,” the insider added.

Drew, 22, and Melody, 24, have appeared close throughout the season, but their relationship appears to have shifted into noticeably flirtier territory in recent days – particularly this week.
According to the source, producers want to encourage the showmance dynamics without directly determining the outcome of the game.
“Producers are able to influence, or as fans would say, manipulate, the outcome without solely impacting the results of the show through a few ways.
“They use subtle psychological nudges in the Diary Room like leading with questions that plants the idea or phrasing things so the Houseguests are hyperaware that there is a connection there,” the source explained.
“Even if there’s not a connection there, they start second guessing themselves and then all of a sudden, it’s on the table.
“The manipulation can also come as the contestants realize that being part of a dynamic duo will get them more screen time and can be advantageous in the game, like winning the Time Capsule vote,” the insider added.
This week, live-feed viewers have watched Drew and Melody holding hands while in bed, cuddling up beside each other on the couches and spending time together in the jacuzzi.
The pair have also shared increasingly intimate conversations and traded enough flirty comments to have fans watching their every interaction for signs that the close friendship is becoming something more.
There is just one major piece missing from the equation: a kiss.
Drew and Melody have yet to lock lips, despite viewers practically willing them to make the move.
Fans have been stunned by the sudden escalation in flirting, with many rooting hard for the pair to finally take their relationship to the next level.
