Big Brother 28 Week 6: Will Time Capsule Powers Come Into Play?
After four weeks of Big Brother Time Capsule powers and punishments all we’ve seen so far is some silly costumes and panic over Drew not properly using his Coin of Destiny… Okay, that last part is a joke. Drew never had the Coin, but it would have been a lot more fun that week if he had. Now though we seem to be quickly approaching a scenario that could call the Vets into action with their powers. Sorry, not you Angela. You got an egg instead.
There are two solid powers loose in the wild with Rick’s Diamond Power of Veto and the moderately good BB Bribe for Dee that offers her $5K to sway another HG. Devens’s Diamond glow is fading as we are down to the last two weeks before it expires and this is one guy I do think would use it now even with another week where he might need it. So will there be a need?
Yash has set his plans following overnight talks and while it looks like Devens should be safe (Yash wants to protect the Bros) we can’t say the same for Dee or Angela. Will that be enough to get Devens off the bench and put his DPOV into play? I think it could!

Devens told Dee quickly about his power but he never revealed it to Angela. What the Diamond Power of Veto lets Devens do is to override a Veto decision with one of his own so he can save someone and name the renom himself instead of letting the HOH do it. Very powerful stuff here. Ideally someone would use it on themselves but Devens did promise Dee he’d use it for himself or for her. He never mentioned that to Angela and never revealed his power to her at all.
If Dee is on the Block come Monday afternoon following the regular Veto decision then I do think we could see Devens break out the big guns here. But if it’s just Angela? I don’t think he would use it and at that point I’d hold it for myself if I was Rick, but this guy loves to gamble in the games!
So what about Dee’s power? The $5K BB Bribe to ask someone to do something for her game is pretty decent, just nothing like a DPOV. Where I could see this coming into play would possibly be Dee asking Yash not to nominate her today in exchange for $5K but I don’t think she’d do that. Dee is feeling pretty confident in her position and I could see her wanting to hold onto this power because unlike Devens’s DPOV, this power can run the whole season.
But what about if an ally gets the Veto on Saturday then maybe Dee would ask that HG to use it on her for the $5K? That’s not bad either, but in that situation I would instead anticipate Dee pushing for Devens to use his DPOV and save her so she could instead pocket that $5K for a rainy day another week.
So many options of how this could play out but it’s exciting to see some more power shifts that even open up these possibilities. Powers are fun but they’ve gotta get played and we need a big splash when they do! Fingers crossed that one of these Time Capsule powers shows up in force this week.
