‘Survivor’ Star Rick Devens Reveals His 2 Kids Want to Submit Audition Tapes for a ‘Blood vs. Water’ Season
“They’re both competitive — secretly very competitive,” he says of 12-year-old Jackson and 8-year-old Juliet, whose future reality-TV ambitions are already making waves.

Rick Devens’ children are apparently more ready for the Survivor jungle than ever — and their plan is already sounding like a major TV twist.
The two-time Survivor player, who most recently competed on the milestone 50th season, said in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that his son Jackson, 12, and daughter Juliet, 8, are eager to jump into the game themselves.
“Oh, as soon as they turn 18, they’re going to be turning in [audition] tapes hoping for a Blood vs. Water season,” Rick, 42, said during the Newport Beach TV Fest in California on June 6.

Blood vs. Water was the fan-favorite format used in seasons 27 and 29, where returning players teamed up with — and battled against — their loved ones.
“They’re little Survivors at heart,” Rick said proudly. “They’re both very funny. They both have very sunny dispositions even when things get tough, and they’re both competitive — secretly very competitive.”
Rick shares Jackson and Juliet with his wife, Becca Devens, who appeared on his original Survivor: Edge of Extinction season (season 38 in 2019) during a loved-ones visit episode.
“It’s so funny because [our kids] were so small when I went on the first time that all of their memories are of me being the guy who was on Survivor,” Rick explained. “They don’t even know what it’s like to not have a dad who’s a reality TV person. They love it.”
He added that his daughter has turned into his biggest promoter: “My daughter is my biggest publicist. She’s 8. She’ll go around and be like, ‘My dad was on Survivor,’ to everybody.”
“They love meeting all these fellow Survivors who are so great with them. It’s been awesome,” he continued.
Rick’s Survivor legacy is already packed with standout moments, including a record-breaking four hidden immunity idols on season 38 and a solo run in the Mr. Beast-powered coin toss twist that doubled the prize money to $2 million on season 50.

He also spoke about the bigger impact the show has had on his life. “It’s given me a chance to very clearly show my young kids that you can do anything you want. Chase your dreams. Have fun with it,” Rick told PEOPLE. “The worst that can happen is you flop and you go back to a great life. That’s not a bad thing. So it’s been the gift that keeps on giving.”
Reflecting on both of his stints, he said, “I’m the luckiest dude in the world, literally and figuratively. I’ve got such an amazing wife and kids and life that everything that happens on Survivor is just extra.”
And the reality-TV momentum does not stop there. CBS announced on July 9 that Rick is also a contestant on Big Brother season 28. The show’s account teased, “Devens from Georgia is bringing chaos into the game like it’s his middle name.”
With Survivor fans already watching closely and a new game ahead on Big Brother, this could be just the beginning of another wild chapter for Devens and his family.
