FORM AN ORDERLY LBTQ Corrie lesbian couple dubbed ‘Swarla’ mobbed by devotees on set forcing security to be called in after fan club set up
CORRIE couple Lisa Swain and Carla Connor have attracted their own fan club — with “Swarla” devotees obsessing over their every move and constantly turning up on set.
Hardcore fans are going wild for the romance between Weatherfield’s factory boss Carla, played by Alison King, and police detective Lisa, played by Vicky Myers.
One website, called SwarlaHQ, runs articles dedicated to the pair.
And this week 53-year-old Alison and Vicky, 50, had to be escorted by security guards when a large group of Swarla fans turned up while they were filming on location in Bolton.
A show source said: “Ali and Vicky were filming alongside other Corrie stars including Tina O’Brien and Jack P Shepherd.
“But the group that turned up were only interested in Swarla.

“They waited outside all day until the shoot finished at 6.45pm.
“Alison and Vicky were ushered out by security guards into a waiting Mercedes people carrier. There was no time for selfies or autographs. But for the Swarla fans it didn’t matter, they are so hardcore just a glimpse is enough.”
The source said groups of Swarla fans also regularly wait outside the gates of the ITV Trafford Wharf Studios in Salford Quays in the hope of spotting them.
And the source said security is always on hand to keep a close eye out.

They said: “Some fans turn up to watch the actors going in and out of the locations or the studios, and security’s there just to make sure that everyone is safe and that no lines are crossed.
“In Bolton there were seven security guards and they kept an especially close eye on Ali and Vicky. The devotion to Swarla is off the scale. Corrie bosses have never seen anything like it.”
Coronation Street bosses insist security measures have always been tight around the cast and say Swarla fans do not pose any additional threat.
The couple’s romantic storyline first exploded in 2024 with dedicated Swarla worshippers creating TikTok edits, fan fiction and even petitions demanding the writers give them a happy ending.
The term “Swarla” trends every week when episodes are on.
In April this year, they became the first lesbian couple to marry on the ITV soap.
