Big Brother star Melody’s on-off boyfriend angry & hurt over her ‘cheatmance’
A BLOSSOMING Big Brother love story has turned into real-life heartbreak for the man Melody was getting serious with before joining the Season 28 cast, The U.S. Sun has learned.
Melody Morris has found herself at the center of a slow burning showmance connection with her co-star, Drew Campbell.
Fans have watched as the pair have gone from subtle flirting to an increasingly intimate bond, including late night cuddles and hand holding, inside the Big Brother house.
But back home, Aaron, the man Melody has been seeing on and off “for years,” has been forced to watch it all unfold in real time.
An insider close to the couple told The U.S. Sun that Melody was not officially in a “full-blown relationship” when she entered the house, but she had been reconnecting with Aaron shortly before filming began.
“They were friends first then it was like an on-and-off thing for a long time,” the insider explained of the two meeting in Phoenix, Arizona when Melody was a student at Arizona State University.
“Her getting on Big Brother happened at pretty much the worst time for them because it was just as things were getting back on track for them and they seemed to be getting serious.”
The source insisted that Aaron was fully supportive of her decision to go on Big Brother and wanted her to embrace the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
However, there was one thing he seemingly never expected to have to watch from home: Melody falling for a fellow houseguest.
“She swore she’d never be caught dead in a showmance. Not just because of him, but because she doesn’t want to embarrass herself and is there to win and always talked about how she thought showmances were cringe for the people involved” the informant said.
“She’s smarter than that. Well, she was.”
The insider acknowledged that spending weeks isolated from the outside world and surrounded by the same handful of people can change the dynamics inside the house.
“I can’t imagine what’s going through her mind right now.
“It must be so hard and I know she’s probably so lonely. So her friends and family all completely understand,” they explained.
Still, the source said Melody’s situation has been painful for Aaron as he’s forced to watch from home.
“He is angry at the situation, not necessarily at her but that he has to watch this play out in front of him and he has no control of it.
“And he is hurt by what he has seen from her this week.”
The insider said the change in Melody has been particularly difficult for Aaron to watch because he believes he has seen a noticeable shift in her feelings toward Drew.
“He thought Melody acted fine in the first part of the season but these past few days changed everything,” the source said.
“He could see the change in how she looks at Drew and more than that, it made him realize that the Melody he knew is gone.”
The insider said there is also an understanding that Melody’s life may look very different once she leaves the Big Brother house.
“She will be a public figure after this, she may not even move back home and stay in LA.
“Her life will be different and he’s happy for her, but he does not want to be a part of it,” the source said.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Aaron for comment.
Melody herself has referenced Aaron several times throughout the season.
At one point on the live feeds, Melody pretended she was speaking to her mother on the phone, something she has done as a way of coping with the emotional strain of being separated from loved ones inside the isolated house.
“I miss all you guys, I really miss Aaron,” she said during the moment, before adding that she’s “always thinking of him.”
The revelation came as viewers have increasingly picked up on just how complicated Melody’s romantic life outside the house may be.
During another conversation in the Big Brother backyard, Drew directly asked Melody whether she had a guy back home.
Melody, 24, nodded and revealed that she had met him when she was 21.
“But you guys aren’t official?” Drew, 22, questioned.
Melody appeared uncomfortable before pausing and giving a deliberately vague response: ”I’ll have to tell you about it later.”
While Melody has never publicly defined the relationship beyond what she has shared on the live feeds, her growing closeness with Drew has become one of the season’s biggest storylines.
The pair’s connection has been a slow burn for much of the season, with their friendship gradually taking on a more romantic tone.
But things have accelerated dramatically over the past week as Melody and Drew have become virtually inseparable and are often seen cuddling together in bed, holding hands and exchanging flirty comments.
Despite the mounting tension, however, the duo have not yet been filmed kissing or taking their physical relationship to that next level.
That distinction has done little to stop viewers from speculating about where their relationship is headed – or what it could mean for Melody once she walks back into the real world.
