Big Brother 28 Episode 28 Recap: A Night of Screams and Schemes

The power struggle inside the Big Brother 28 house reached a boiling point Wednesday night as tensions  spilled into the open. With trust breaking down and several players scrambling to protect their games, the nomination ceremony quickly turned into a shouting match before the fallout continued throughout the house.

And the screaming didn’t stop there. Mallory and Melody worked their vocal cords all night long.

Wednesday night’s episode picks up during the explosive nomination ceremony and there is a lot of drama. Drew says that Lala and Taylor were talking about targeting the “Icons,” and Taylor immediately goes off. Then Lala goes off too. There is chaos and drama flying back and forth, with everyone trying to defend themselves and figure out who is telling the truth.

Drew is lying about Taylor, and she is not having it. Eventually, the ceremony finally breaks up, but the drama does not stop there. It moves to the backyard with Drew and Lala. She calls Drew a liar, while Drew tries to spin the situation to make himself look better to the Icons so they know he is actually with them.

The FAP alliance gets together and talks about how they can no longer trust Dee and how the Mosh Pit alliance they are all a part of means nothing. Mallory is already worrying about potential replacement nominees, and rightly so.

Lala gets some time with Dee and continues to call Drew a liar. She tells Dee that she never said her name or Angela’s name. She says she only mentioned Devens. Dee tells her that she believes her, but then tells us in the Diary Room that she really does not believe Lala. She goes even further, saying that everyone should be targeting the Icons and that everyone should be putting them on the block.

Mallory and Melody both tell Drew that if they win the veto, they will take him off the block.

But before that can happen, they have to pick the players for the Power of Veto competition. Joining Dee, Drew, Taylor and Lala are Barrett and Angela.

Dee tells Drew that he is not her target, so if she wins the veto, she will not use it. Drew says he is not worried at all, but he is still going to try to win.

Lala asks Angela if she would use the veto on her. Angela tells her that she would use the veto on Lala, but adds in the Diary Room that she would do that only if Dee was okay with it.

Meanwhile, Devens is doing some Big Brother math and realizes that the veto will be used unless Dee wins. So he starts trying to figure out who would become the replacement nominee. He goes through everyone and decides that it would have to be someone from the Mosh Pit. His best option? Mallory. Devens says Mallory is one of the biggest threats to the Icons. He also says she is clearly not committed to the Mosh Pit and cannot be trusted. But Devens runs the idea by Angela, and she agrees 100 percent. Devens says the Mosh Pit served its purpose by getting Kamu out of the house, so now they can focus on getting Mallory out this week.

But what does Dee think? Devens lets her know that he and Angela agree that Mallory should go up and go home. Dee asks if Mallory is a bigger threat than Taylor. Devens says yes, for sure. Dee says it is not a terrible idea if a new nominee has to go up. However, if the veto is not used, she wants everything to stay the same and Taylor to remain her target.

So now it is time for the veto competition. This week, the players have to complete reps on exercise machines. They have to hit a certain number of reps in each round or they are eliminated.

Here are the results:

• Round 1: Angela and Drew are eliminated.
• Round 2: Dee is eliminated. Taylor, Lala and Barrett remain. The person who completes the most reps in Round 3 wins.
• Round 3: Lala completes the most reps and wins the Power of Veto.

So Dee is not going to be able to leave her nominations the same, and Devens is still pushing Mallory as the replacement nominee.

Haley, who I almost forgot was still there, lets Dee know that Mallory would be a good target. But Dee needs to find some kind of justification. So, with Drew in the room, Dee and Devens go through the options and slowly whittle them down until it looks like Mallory is the only option.

Drew does not love the idea of Mallory. So now it is time for Dee to see how Barrett feels. Barrett tells Dee that he would not love seeing Mallory on the block. He also lets us know how frustrated he is that they could not even make it through two weeks of the Mosh Pit. He thinks this is very selfish of Dee.

Drew and Barrett then get together and talk about how dumb this idea is. They do not understand why Yash and Haley are not options. They realize that this keeps happening whenever their alliance is in power.

Drew says that Dee has been nothing but bad for his game, and Barrett completely agrees. They finally realize that they have just been soldiers for the “Icons.”

Devens sort of overhears their conversation. He does not know exactly what they were saying, but he knows they were talking about something they did not want him to hear. So he pretends that he knows what they were discussing and tries to get them to tell him what they said.

And it works. Drew sort of reveals what they were talking about. Smooth move for Devens.

Dee then decides to let Mallory know that she is an option for the replacement nominee, and that is a very awkward conversation. Mallory is obviously not happy and agrees with everyone else that this is a dumb idea.

So at the veto ceremony, Lala uses the Power of Veto on herself, and Dee names Mallory as the replacement nominee.

And just like that, Mallory is on the block (with lots of screaming in the Diary Room afterward), the Mosh Pit is dead, and the lines in the house are getting even more complicated.
