Big Brother 28: What We Know About 1000th Episode

Big Brother 28 makes history this week when it becomes the first primetime television series to hit the 1,000th episode milestone.

So producers surely have some surprises in store for viewers this Thursday night, including the next big twist.

“This episode will launch one of the biggest twists of the summer,” Big Brother producers told TV Insider. “…and it’s something that has never happened before!”

As of now, producers are remaining tight lipped on what that twist is. But they have touted plenty of other things we can expect to see during the historic 90-minute episode, which will air live Thursday night from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET. The episode will feature the latest BB Blockbuster competition, a live eviction and, of course, the mystery twist that producers have been teasing.

The episode will also take a look back at some of the most memorable moments from Big Brother’s 26-year history. That includes fan engagement, with viewers having a say in some of the special night’s surprises. Former Houseguests will make surprise appearances based on interactive fan votes, meaning fans could see some familiar faces from throughout the show’s long history.

Executive Producer Allison Grodner told Variety magazine that “We want to take some time at the beginning to really reflect on the past and, through fan engagement, have some fun reveals of polls that were taken of favorite moments, favorite winners and people that should have won.”

And something tells us that we might know some of the faces we will be seeing from the past. A number of former Big Brother players have been posting cryptic messages on X (Twitter) that signals they could be a part of Thursday night’s show. Several have mentioned traveling to Greece soon, which has been a running joke since Big Brother 14 when Janelle said she was going to Greece when she was really making her third return to the Big Brother house. Since then, when a Houseguest mentions going to Greece, fans perk up their ears. Janelle’s infamous Greece excuse has become one of the show’s more recognizable inside jokes.

So far on X, Janelle has mentioned going to Greece this week, along with Big Brother 11’s Michele Noonan and Big Brother 20’s Angela Rockstar. And considering CBS has already confirmed that former Houseguests will be making surprise appearances as part of the 1,000th episode celebration, fans have plenty of reason to speculate about who might walk through the door.

Surely, anyone showing up will just be making an appearance and not actually taking part in the next big twist. But who knows, really. This is Big Brother, after all.
