Big Brother 28 Teases “Biggest Twist Of The Summer” – What Could It Be?
Big Brother loves to tease that fans should expect the unexpected. However, after watching for 26 years, you can pretty much expect twists throughout the season. The big twist of Big Brother 28 is that three reality TV veterans joined the game. Dee, Devens, and Angela have been running the show.
The newbies are starting to talk about getting rid of them, but we’re sure that won’t be easy, especially with them having two powers, one of these powers will likely extend their stay in the house. The other major twist this season is the Time Capsule powers and punishments.
We only have two more weeks left of Time Capsule voting, and only Dee and Devens have powers. The remaining weeks could end in more powers entering the game or everyone else getting a punishment. Despite Devens’ Diamond Power of Veto, the Time Capsule hasn’t majorly altered the game yet.
If the Coin of Destiny, Replay, or the Mystery Player enter the game, then we may see a little bit of power causing some havoc. However, the season has been rather mild with twists. We prefer it that way, but this is Big Brother. Expect a twist when you least want it.
This week, Big Brother published an official press release about the 1,000th episode. That will happen live on Thursday, August 27. It will feature past houseguests that are selected from interactive polls, which are currently active. These surprise appearances are supposed to kick off what Big Brother is labeling “the biggest twist of the summer.” The press release doesn’t give any details on the twist, but because the theme this year is Time Warp, we will likely see a twist similar to those in the past.
The 1,000th episode happens during Week 7 of the game. This could be a twist that involves the jury, but if the season was going back to nine instead of seven jurors, it would kick off next week. However, some fans have speculated that maybe America, not Lopez, is the ninth juror.
This makes a bit of sense as a twist because then host Julie Chen-Moonves will announce that the first juror enters that night. Additionally, it’s a 90-minute episode, so we could even see a double eviction for the first two jurors, if America is one of them.
BBUS2026 News posted a schedule for most of the rest of the season, and there are a couple of episodes after the 1,000th that are two hours long. That may mean the twist will affect the rest of the season, and they need longer episodes. It also likely means nothing more than that they just had extra airtime, so they decided to give it to Big Brother. I think it’s likely just extra airtime to fill, but it would be exciting if it were a twist so big that it needed more time in the episodes.
RealityCeCe theorized that the twist could be Survivor-themed. Maybe the houseguests would have to live outside for the week and compete to get back into the game. The loser would go home. This seems the most probable because Big Brother 28 has had a lot of similarities to Big Brother 26 in terms of competitions. Big Brother 24 and Big Brother 26 both had outdoor twists.
Big Brother 26 sent them to Jankie’s World. We could see Jankie return as part of the Time Warp, or mixed with a Survivor-theme. The producers mentioned after Big Brother 26 wanting to bring back Jankie. This twist would allow them that opportunity. Why not retraumatize Angela with Jankie, her old friend?
The outside twists happening in Big Brother 24 and 26 may mean that the producers do it every other season, so Big Brother 28 is next in that sequence. With the theme being time warp, the Big Brother gods could bring back so many twists, or create an entirely new one. We have to wait and see what happens, but we are excited to watch the 1,000th episode celebration.
