The Blindside Fallout: Nobody Knows Who to Trust
Big Brother 28 Episode 17 picked up immediately after Lyric’s 8-3 eviction — and the house was already unraveling. In the scramble to cover their tracks, Kamu, Yash, Chuk, Dee, and Angela all claimed they voted to evict Lyric. The problem: only Yash, Kamu, and Chuk actually did. Dee and Angela lied straight to Haley’s face.
Haley was genuinely confused — and genuinely gaslit. She couldn’t figure out who flipped because the people who flipped were telling her they hadn’t. Angela celebrated in the Diary Room. Dee loved every second of watching Haley, Kamu, and Chuk spiral into self-doubt. Meanwhile, Melody — who nearly went home — was off by herself, quietly crying and missing her evicted friend.
The episode also revisited the plan that made it all happen: Devens spearheaded the flip, pulling in Angela, Barrett, and Mallory, before Taylor and La Trice came on board. The Toolshed alliance was done before the new HOH competition even began.
The Wall Competition: A Historic Result
The Week 5 Head of Household competition was the iconic Wall endurance challenge — houseguests perched on a narrow platform attached to a tilting wall, battered by water, winds, and whatever the Big Brother production team felt like throwing at them. Last person standing wins.
Angela was the first eliminated, crashing out in just 28 seconds in one of the fastest Wall exits in show history. The remaining 11 houseguests all pushed past 30 minutes. Taylor, Barrett, Devens, and Dee fell in order. Melody lasted slightly over an hour. Then Mallory, Chuk, Yash, and Drew were eliminated in quick succession.
The final two: Kamu and La Trice. With the entire house watching, Kamu slipped — and La Trice claimed her first HOH win of the season. At 58 years old, she became the oldest houseguest in Big Brother history to win the Wall competition. It was a genuinely electric moment in an already chaotic episode.
The Time Capsule: Mallory Wins the Vote, Gets the Worst Punishment
Before nominations, the episode revealed the results of the latest Big Brother Time Capsule fan vote: Mallory had won. She earned the right to open the Time Capsule and draw her fate — but it wasn’t a prize. Mallory landed the Adam and Eve punishment.

The punishment required Mallory to choose a houseguest to be tethered to for the duration of the penalty. She chose Melody — and the two were forced to wear themed costumes and stay physically connected for the entire punishment period.
Lala’s HOH Strategy: Taylor, Kamu, and a Last-Minute Pivot
Once La Trice secured her HOH, the nomination conversations began immediately. Her initial instinct was to target Devens — she considered him one of the most dangerous players still in the game. Taylor had other ideas, lobbying hard for Haley to become the primary target.
Then Kamu stepped in with a move that changed everything. Still furious over the Lyric blindside and desperate to distance himself from his old allies, he went directly to La Trice and made his pitch: nominate Chuk and Haley together. He even dropped a piece of intel — claiming Chuk had told others he would put Lala on the block if he ever won HOH. That information landed exactly where Kamu intended it to.
The Nomination Ceremony: Three Names on the Block
La Trice didn’t play it safe. Rather than using pawns and re-noms, she went straight for her targets from the jump — naming Barrett, Haley, and Chuk as her Week 5 nominees at the nomination ceremony.
Haley is the primary target. Barrett is the pawn. Chuk is stuck in the middle, still not fully grasping how isolated he’s become. With the Power of Veto competition still to come, the game is wide open — but Lala made it clear she came to play.
