Big Brother 28, Episode 14 recap: Two lies and a truth

A new episode of Big Brother 28 aired on Wednesday night. The August 5 episode revealed what happened with the Power of Veto and who finished the week on the block.
As previously revealed, Haley became the latest Head of Household. She was on a mission to right what she felt was wrong over the first three weeks.
The target bounced around a bit in her chats, but Haley settled on nominating Taylor, Drew, and Melody.
Each of the three nominees knew how important it was to win the Week 4 Power of Veto. But only one of them could (possibly) find safety. Let’s get into it!
After the recap of the last episode, where Drew was put on thin ice with the Red Corner after campaigning to save Mallory, we jumped into reactions to the Nomination Ceremony.
Haley spoke about needing to “check” Drew by putting him on the block. She was also using “mean girl energy” when she accused Melody of doing the same.
Drew was upset that people from Haley’s own alliance could be at risk. But he said he was “more motivated” to win the Power of Veto.
Taylor called it a “b**** a** move” that Haley lied to her and then nominated her.
Melody was unsurprised about being nominated, but had to laugh about Haley claiming she was playing a “clean and honest” game.
Mallory reacted very negatively to Haley’s claim that she had a “hard week” despite being in power.
The Red Corner decided to make Drew the primary target.
Haley, again, talked about her “rough month” as a reason to turn on Drew. At this point, what is she even talking about? She was safe and protected for the first month and never at risk of nomination.
Meanwhile, Taylor and La Trice comiserated about how Haley was treating people. They vowed to find a way to get into power and return the favor.
Drew was worried about being nominated, didn’t really understand what Haley was doing, and told Devens he would target Haley soon. Oops. Big mistake.
Ahead of the Veto Competition, Dee told Barrett he needed to let go of his alliance with Drew. And Haley assured Drew he was never the target. Drew had to know she wasn’t being honest. Right?
Melody picked Mallory to join the Veto Competition. Haley got to pick someone too, and she went with Chuk.
Haley, Melody, Drew, Taylor, Chuk, and Mallory prepared to play for the Power of Veto.
Later, Morgan Pope from Big Brother 27 popped in to host it all.
The challenge was the one with two glasses of wine. Each battle would have one player trying to poison the other. One player challenges someone in a battle of the mind. The challengee decides which glass they drink from. Once someone has been poisoned twice, they are eliminated.
Chuk, Drew, and Mallory were poisoned in the first round.
Mallory, Melody, and Drew were poisoned in the second round.
Haley and Taylor were poisoned in the third round.
Melody and Haley were poisoned in the fourth round.
Taylor beat Chuk to win the Power of Veto.
Taylor was extremely excited about her victory.
Drew and Melody had frustrations about losing.
Later, Haley met with the Red Corner about the renom. She argued with Kamu, as he wanted to keep Lyric to work with her. But Haley wanted to keep Mallory off the block, despite the risk.
As a reminder, Haley gave Lyric her word that she wouldn’t see the block.
