With Megan Walsh now serving time after being found guilty of grooming teenager Will Driscoll, Beth Nixon has officially said her goodbyes to the character who made her a household name on the cobbles. And she did it in the most Megan-appropriate way possible.

Sharing a reel of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, Beth wrote: “Megan, you’re a cow and I’ll miss you like a hole in the head. Thank you thank you thank you to every single person at @coronationstreet — you’ve changed my life! Peace out.”

It’s exactly the kind of farewell you’d expect from someone who spent months bringing one of soap’s most chilling recent villains to life — self-aware, warm, and just a little bit wicked.

The Co-Stars Were There For Her

The post drew an outpouring of love from her Weatherfield castmates. Jude Riordan, whose character Sam Blakeman clashed repeatedly with Megan, simply wrote: “Yes Beth.” Farrel Hegarty (Lou Michaelis) added: “Amazing you are.” Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain, said: “You are just incredible can’t wait to watch you soar xxx.” And Catherine Tyldesley, who fans will remember as Eva Price, piled on: “We love you! Outstanding!!!!”

Beth on What the Storyline Meant

Speaking about her departure on a recent podcast, Beth opened up about how the story was always heading toward this outcome — justice for Will and his family.

“When I first took the role we didn’t know fully what was going to happen, how long it was going to be,” she explained. “But it was always that she wasn’t ever going to escape justice by being killed or anything like that. We always knew that she was going to serve her time.”

For Beth, the importance of showing justice was personal. “It’s definitely important to show that, if you are being abused, then you can get justice. It’s really hard because it doesn’t always happen that way. But when the storyliners were making the story, there’s been a few cases recently where it’s happened and the victims have got justice.”

She also noted that the story does something many soaps shy away from — showing not just the crime but the entire aftermath for the family, the ongoing trauma, and the slow process of recovery. “It’s quite nice, because it’s showing what all the family are going through — how they’re supporting Will and how it’s affecting them.”

Not Ruling Out a Return

Beth has left the door open for a future comeback, saying she’d love any opportunity to return. Given how strong her run was, and how much goodwill she’s built with viewers, it’s hard to imagine Weatherfield wouldn’t welcome her back eventually — even if Megan would need a very good reason to cross those cobbles again.
