Coronation Street's Jude Riordan just shared something that broke his entire fanbase — a raw, heartbroken goodbye that had co-stars and fans flooding his comments with tears. And the timing couldn't be more painful given what his character is going through right now on screen.
Jude’s Heartbreaking Goodbye to Ruby
The young Coronation Street star took to Instagram to share the loss of Ruby, his beloved King Charles Cavalier Spaniel who had been part of the family since he was a toddler. He posted a carousel of photos spanning years together — and his caption was utterly devastating.
“I didn’t expect to say goodbye to her,” he wrote. “Even though she was at end of life stage it was still a big shock. Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Ruby. I held her little face right until the end. Losing a dog is so painful. She was a sweet girl and we will miss her forever. I hope her tired legs are strong again running over rainbow bridge.”

Co-Stars and Fans Rally Around Him
The response was immediate and overwhelming. On-screen enemy Beth Nixon wrote: “Oh Jude, I can tell she had an amazing life even just from these photos, sending you and your family so much love.” Co-star Cait Fitton (Lauren Bolton) sent love, Rachel Leskovac (his on-screen mum) offered “hugs,” and former on-screen girlfriend Isabella Flanagan said: “So sorry for your loss darling, hope you’re all okay.”
Fans were equally moved. One follower wrote: “Saying goodbye to a dog is very painful — they leave an enormous hole in our hearts.” Another shared: “We had to say goodbye to our 14-year-old dog a couple of months ago. We have found it so hard. Sending you and your family lots of love.”
