Big Brother’s Mallory Aurichio reveals the negative nickname she planned on giving Drew for his betrayal

She may be a “Queen,” but she won’t be holding court in that medieval challenge on Sunday.

After throwing Big Brother’s Head of Household challenge last week, Mallory Aurichio found herself as a re-nom on her so-called alliance member Dee Valladares’s HoH. Though some of the all-stars in the live audience (to celebrate the CBS reality competition’s 1,000th episode) thought Mallory was the frontrunner to win the BB Blockbuster against Drew Campbell and Taylor Brown, it was her F.A.P. alliance member Drew who ultimately claimed victory — and was one of the six people to vote her out.

With only Barrett Pfeiffer and screaming Melody Morris on her side in the eviction vote, Mallory headed out to meet host Julie Chen Moonves — meaning she’s missing out on the massive twist that was announced at the end of Thursday’s episode.

Hours after her eviction, Mallory spoke with Entertainment Weekly about missing out on the chaos of the next competition, embracing her “Pipe Queen” nickname, and who she hopes follows her out of the house.

While it’s never easy to go home, you didn’t seem surprised. How early in the week did you feel like you knew how the votes would go?

MALLORY AURICHIO: I wasn’t sure if Taylor won the blockbuster, but I was pretty confident that I would stay if Taylor won. But even by Tuesday, I knew if Drew won, then I was gonna go home. Wednesday, though, it seemed like things might change. But by Wednesday night, it seemed like it wasn’t going to.

Beyond being told to trust Dee, you also said you didn’t want Head of Household last week because you’d have to show your cards. Walk me through your decision to not gun for the win.

I’ve been feeling really bad for even working with the Icons — for Yash and Taylor, because I knew they wanted to keep Kamu the week before, and I was hiding it from them that I had formed this Mosh Pit alliance, and I didn’t even really trust it. But I was getting a lot of reassurance from Barrett and Drew that at least for the time being, for at least this next week, the Mosh Pit ship would be fine. [They argued] it wouldn’t make any sense to form an alliance and blow it up less than a week later. So I had a feeling that if I had won HoH, I wouldn’t have it in my heart to put up Yosh and Taylor, so I would’ve just put up people in the Mosh Pit. I had run that by Barrett, who said that would be a terrible idea, that would be a disaster, that everyone would blow everything up. So going into the competition, I was like, “If this is a competition I can win, then that’s a sign that I should win it.” So I went in trying, and I was doing well, and then at the end, I saw that I was actually close to winning it, and I choked a little because I didn’t know what I would do.

You may not have won, but you walked out with a nickname, Pipe Queen, from how much you crushed the first Veto comp this season. How does it feel to have been given that moniker?

It’s awesome. It’s exciting. I think it’s probably gonna be hopefully my BB Comic. And winning that Veto was really exciting. So I love that I have a nickname. It’s awesome.

When you were nominated that first week, and again this week, you got very emotional. Did that anger and emotion surprise you?

So, that definitely is me. I thought going into this that I would have more of a mind of knowing that this is a game and there could only be one winner, but it didn’t feel like that in there. It’s really hard because it is my dream to be there. And then when it feels like someone is trying to basically crush my dream, it’s hard to not be very angry and upset and sad. It just feels like life or death in there. Going into it, I was like, “No matter what happens, this is so cool that I’m even here.” And then when I’m in there, I’m like, “I don’t wanna leave.” So yeah, that definitely is truly me. But I was surprised by [the fact] that I didn’t have it more under wraps like I thought I would.

What did you learn in your final days in the house, or since you’ve left, that has surprised you?

I didn’t realize how loyal Drew was to the Icons. Well, I was pretty positive that Drew and Barrett were working with them — but I always thought that our alliance, the F.A.P., would be more important than that. And I do think on a personal level it was. But when it came down to it, Drew didn’t wanna stick up for me; he voted me out. But I was gonna leave anyway.

How did it feel seeing how emotional he was about voting you out?

I knew he was gonna vote me out. And before that, I was really mad at him. When I was evicted I had planned to call him “Drewdus,” like Judas. But after he won the Blockbuster and he was crying and hugging me…I’m not that mad at him anymore. You know, I do think the game decision he’s making with that isn’t the right one, but he’s just doing what he thinks is best, and I know he didn’t wanna do it. So I am less mad at him that he was so emotional about it.

As you heard Julie say, there’s a big twist coming this week. What do you think about that?

I have a little bit of FOMO about the twist. I don’t know what it is, but whatever it is, I hope it’s not too much fun. [laughs]

If you got to cherry-pick who leaves the house next, who would it be?

Dee! [laughs]

Is that solely because she is responsible for your eviction, or is there more to that?

A big part of it is that she’s responsible for me being here, but I also…. On a personal level, I like the atmosphere she brings to the house. But game-wise, she wants to air everything out. She didn’t like that I stayed quiet at the nomination ceremony. I felt like her logic was, “If you’re in an alliance with me, you should be on bad terms with everybody else.” Like, “If these are my enemies, they should be your enemies too.” And I didn’t really like that. I don’t think that’s a way people should have to play Big Brother. I should be allowed to keep things to myself. For example, Drew told Dee that Yosh wanted her out on his HoH. So then Dee called in Yosh and then asked Drew to say it in front of him. I don’t think that’s the right way to play. Like, if I’m telling you this, obviously I don’t want him to know that I’m telling you. I just didn’t like that. It makes it hard to play the game, basically, if you have to air out everything. And she’s the reason that I’m gone, so that too. Yeah.
