Big Brother 28-Thursday Recap for 8/27/26

Barrett’s plan to take out Drew carried over from Wednesday night into Thursday morning. He almost made a mistake when he talked about it to Haley. With Haley, it wasn’t so much of a ‘get rid of Drew’ as it was ‘save Mallory’ at all costs. Haley warned Dee and Angela she thought Barrett might vote Drew out. They were a little concerned about the votes but not too much. I don’t think they put much stock in the info because it was coming from Haley and usually her perspective in the game is a little off. (Not this time)

Drew had made a few comments about possibly throwing the Blockbuster to Mallory if he could. Dee and Devens didn’t know he was saying it but they figured he was thinking about it. They both told Drew things can change at the last minute and he shouldn’t throw it, just in case. Drew was trying to find a way to save both Mallory and himself. He had no idea if he hadn’t won the Blockbuster last night, he was being evicted.

Barrett continued to go scorched earth on the Crossovers. He’d already told Mallory and Melody that he and Drew have been working with the vets since the beginning of the game. Yesterday, he told Mallory about Dee’s bribe and Yash accepting it. Of course, he only told her Dee couldn’t be put on the block because he doesn’t know the bribe covers all 3 vets. He also told her about the Red Corner alliance.

Barrett, Melody and Mallory confirmed with each other, they’ll vote out Drew even if he was sitting against Taylor.

Drew talked to Dee about voting for Mallory to stay since they may not need his vote. Drew was okay with Mallory going but didn’t want to have to cast the vote against her. He also said he didn’t want to put Dee in a bad position and make her have to break a tie. Dee was worried they couldn’t trust all of the other votes. She wanted him to play it safe and vote out Mallory.

Taylor didn’t plan to tell Lala they were voting out Drew until later in the day. She didn’t want to run the risk of her blabbing anything to Angela. She and Mallory also talked about the possibility of getting Drew to throw the blockbuster. They worked on ways to work together during the comp to help each other if it was possible. (They either didn’t do it or Drew was too fast because this was definitely the type of comp they could have helped each other on)

Barrett finally camera talked and we got some insight into what he was thinking. He said he thought the viewers might be wondering why he was turning on his alliance. He said he loved the icons but they had it too easy. He thought the timing was good to shake up the game and said he may have traded his Mosh Pit alliance for a new one.

Side Note:

I understand Barrett and Drew need to turn on the vets. The obvious question is when should they do it and I’ve not complained about them not having already done it. Do they get used and abused by the vets? Of course they do but they’ve also gotten to the final 10 with them.

In my opinion, working with the vets is not what has wreaked havoc on Barrett and Drews games. I think the problem with their games is the fact that Drew does too much and Barrett wasn’t doing anything. That’s not completely true because the one thing Barrett’s been doing for weeks is throwing Drew under the bus to the vets every chance he gets.

Obviously, they needed to turn on the vets at some point. I’m assuming Barrett thought the timing was now before he lost another close ally. While that’s true, the way he went about it didn’t make sense to me. I think Barrett let his anger over Mallory becoming the target cloud his judgement. Drew talked about flipping on the Vets even before Barrett did. If you remember, that was their plan and then Dee put Drew on the block. Couldn’t he see that temporarily changed things? Drew had to switch things up again because he needed them.

The smartest way for Barrett to have done this would’ve been to include Drew, not target him. I said weeks ago I felt like Barrett had an issue with Drew. I’ve never thought Drew was Barrett’s #1 in his mind. Still, Barrett IS Drew’s #1 and that’s what’s important. Barrett assumed Drew was all in on the vets during the gym talk when Drew sided with them about targeting Mallory. It was crazy to me the Barrett didn’t have a private conversation with Drew about it afterwards. It’s as if Barrett forgot Drew was on the block too. He needed Devens, Angela’s and Dees vote (if it was a tie) so how was he going to disagree with them in that moment? Trying to flip it made sense but the way Barrett went about it didn’t.

Yash doesn’t make for a good ally for Barrett either. He already knows Yash can’t put Dee on the block but more importantly, Barrett knows he was almost Yash’s replacement nom the week before. Yash has never shown any interest in working with Barrett. Drew is at least loyal to Barrett. Drew has consistently covered for Barrett over info he’s given Melody and Mallory, while Barrett has consistently thrown Drew under the bus.

Anyway, back to the day….Dee talked to Devens about maybe needing to tell everyone about the bribe, depending on who won the next HOH. They decided to play it by ear but might use the info in order to put a target on Yash. I’ve seen some people saying they don’t understand how that would make Yash a target but it definitely could. Yash is really good at comps so his likelihood of winning is high unless he’s going to throw it because of the bribe.

Melody with Drew when she knew she was going to vote him out yesterday:

If the best competitor on your side is throwing the HOH comp, how much help is he to you? If he tries to win it so he can get the bribe twist out of the way, that’s even worse. If he can’t put up 3 of his 9 possible options, your chances of going on the block drastically increase. Each week that goes by only makes the math worse. That’s how outing the bribe can make Yash a target. There’s also the added bonus of Yash lying to his group about it.

I don’t know which strategy Yash is planning with the bribe. I would think he’s going to try to win it sooner instead of later. The vets may be his targets but at least there’s still people in the house he’s not working with right now. He’d have to put up people like Barrett, Drew, Haley and Melody. That’s not great but at least it’s not Lala and Taylor. If he doesn’t burn the bribe power soon, he’s in a situation where he either has to put up his allies or he can’t try to win an HOH anymore.

Mallory talked to Devens and Angela trying to get their votes. She’d planned to talk to Haley but ended up asking Barrett to do it for her. Although Haley always preferred Taylor to be the target, she was pretty annoyed over Mallory’s crying this week. After Angela overheard Mallory sobbing, Haley said Mallory needed to grow up. Haley told Angela that Mallory was a grown woman and should act like it. They also both agreed it’s just a game. (Okay, Thog may not be the most popular player but she’s not wrong. However, I do find it ironic that Angela had anything to say on the subject)

All the scheming for a flip didn’t matter because Drew won the blockbuster. He said his strategy was to lock in a choice as soon as he could. It’s why he locked in after only two clues instead of all three. It was a bit of a g****e but was probably smart since Mallory and Taylor could’ve teamed up with a bit more time.

He was gald he was safe but immediately upset too because he knew what that meant for Mallory.

Mallory was evicted with a vote of 6-2. I didn’t pick up on this at the time and had to go back and watch it, but apparently there were some low gasp sounds from the audience when Drew voted. He’s now convinced the fans and the past players he’s idolized hate him. He also didn’t know they were going to be six votes to evict Mallory. If he’d known, he said he could’ve voted for her to stay but the crossovers would’ve still been able to evict her. (He doesn’t know Barrett and Melody have already turned on him so it didn’t matter.

Mallory came out to tons of cheers and it probably felt good to have that many past players clapping for you. The houseguests heard the cheers and that’s another reason Drew thinks they probably hate him. In spite of Mallory’s threats, I can confirm, she in fact did NOT punch Julie in the face when Julie asked if she threw the HOH comp. (I know the internet was in an uproar over this comment the other day)

In case anyone is confused, Mallory said a lot of things she didn’t actually do or mean. She talked about committing crimes if things didn’t go her way in the game. She threatened to steal Dee and Devens family photos if she was evicted and so on. It was just your typical s**t talking and no big deal. When I’m mad, I probably say worse things about my own family in the moment and those are people I love.

Drew voting:

Mallory strikes me as someone who’s immature, a spoiled brat and has some anger issues. She’s also quick-witted, passionate about the game and seems like a lot of fun to be around. All of these things can be true at the same time. I liked Mallory, I just didn’t like the way she played the game. To be more specific, I didn’t like that she barely played the game.

The feeds came back for a short time last night, in spite of what Julie told us. Yash, Lala and Taylor were fairly quiet. I get it, their move to finally blindside the vets failed so there wasn’t a lot to do other than wait for the HOH comp. Haley was in a fine mood, even though the rest of them were more somber. It seems like there’s one eviction every year that shifts the game a bit. It’s always the houseguest that upsets the entire house when they leave and for this cast, it was Mallory. It was the first eviction were they all sat around feeling like someone had died. (Except Haley, lol)

We didn’t need more proof that Haley can’t read a room. We got it anyway because according to Melody, Haley laughed about Mallory leaving. (I don’t know if this is true or if this was just Melody’s perspective because she hates Haley) Either way, Haley moved on to talking with Angela and Dee about them having an alliance where they’re all power puff girls. (It’s been done already)

Devens and Dee consoled Drew over him thinking his tv idols hate him and the situation with Melody. Barrett joined the crossovers for a while too. He’s pretending with them but was quieter than usual. I don’t know if he’s going to try to jump back in with the Crossovers and hope they don’t find out what he’s been doing.

He also may still feel like the Crossovers are over but has to wait and see who wins the next HOH. (That’s smart because whoever the HOH is usually determines whether or not you’re in an alliance with that person)

Melody finally unleashed on Drew for lying to her the entire game. She told him if she was his final 2, he wasn’t a very good ally. Like Barrett, Melody’s approach to this whole vote flip was weird. Instead of waiting for Drew to come to her and tell her the truth, she should have just asked him about the things Barrett told her.

Drew apologized and said he really did want to stick with her but later, he told Barrett he knew they’d lost Melody to the other side. Drew also wondered to the vets if Barrett was going to tell Melody that he also knew Mallory was leaving this week. Drew didn’t out him to Melody but he’s hoping Barrett will share some of the pain and volunteer it.

For now, Drew and the vets don’t know Barrett tried to flip on them. They’re don’t know about Barrett telling Mallory about Dee’s bribe. (I’m not sure if Mallory got around to telling Melody so that secret may have left with her) Unfortunately, with the feeds down, we won’t get to see if anyone of that comes out in the next couple of days.

Melody also has ALOT to discuss with her mom on the fake phone. The summary is she feels like an idiot for believing Drew and she’s mad at herself because she said she had 500 warning signs which she ignored.

I’m trying to not get on here and just b***h and complain about the choices production makes all the time.(Yeah, I know, I’m trying something new) I think it’s obvious how we all feel already. Let’s try to focus on the positive before whatever the stupid twist is completely wrecks the game. If Drew had been evicted last night, the fallout would have been a lot bigger. What we’re missing this weekend could have been a lot more than it is with Drew staying. Unless Yash or Taylor decides to out Barrett, he’ll go back to the crossovers and pretend anyway. Does that help at all? No, not really but thats all I’ve got.

As for the twist announcement, did I blink and miss it? After all the build up, we weren’t actually told what the twist will do. This was our only clue:

We know we won’t have an hoh, a veto or a blockbuster this week. I’m guessing it was some elimination style comp but we’ll just have to wait to know. Whatever it is, I believe it happened last night so whoever was eliminated is probably already gone. (I purposely put Angela’s picture under this statement to maybe Jinx her because I know a lot of you want her gone. If it works, you’re welcome)

The last thing we saw on the feeds was everyone gathering around the dining room table for whatever was about to happen:

I had low expectations for the 1000th episode because I know BB production is so cheap. I’ve also heard past players talk about what they did for the 20th season. They invited a lot of alumni back, made them pay their own way to come, didn’t have room for most of them to sit in the audience and there wasn’t any kind of party or anything afterwards. Not even some chips and a bottle of water. (I did hear they at least had a party last night though) It looks like this is still how they’re rolling because here’s an image of a lot of the alumni watching the episode last night from some other room. Lol

I have to admit, the first show segment last night with the montage of years past, had me a little emotional. Let’s face it, that rarely happens on BB because it’s such a silly show. I thought they did a great job on that part of it.

I have no idea who voted on these awards. I agreed with some and disagreed with others. For example, the best to never win in my opinion is and always will be Danielle Reyes. (Sorry Janelle)

For the comp beast part of it, I completely agree with Janelle as a choice. Mackenzy from bb26 did NOT because I saw a tik tok she did complaining that she wasn’t even mentioned for comp beast. (Neither was Michael Bruner bb24, James Rhine bb6 and bb7 and several others that are more memorable) Mackenzie didn’t know the show when she was on it and she’s proving she still doesn’t.

I completely agreed with Dan as the best player who’s ever won the game. I also liked the way he answered Julie about the BB vs Survivor players. I don’t know why Julie is obsessed with this like it’s opposing football teams but it’s silly to me.

I also agreed with Dan’s funeral being the best moment on the show. (The 2nd foe me is Keesha bday)

Rachel won the best line with “floaters grab a life vest” and repeated it for the cameras while sitting with Elyssa, her sister from bb15. (I would have chosen “no, I sealed your partner’s fate” from Kaysar but I also know I’m probably in the minority on that one)

The Cookout was obviously going to be the best alliance since it’s the only alliance where all members made it to the end together. Azah claimed responsibility for the color coordination last night and I approve.

Corey and America bb25 won favorite shomance but it wasn’t included on the episode. I don’t know if it was a time issue or more likely, they weren’t happy the winner wasn’t Rachel and Brenden or Jeff and Jordan. If you remember, for such a shomance obsessed show, they didn’t even really show it on the episodes during their season. Corey and America may not have cared about the best showmance slight but they definitely aren’t happy about the feeds being out:
