Coronation Street reveals who attacks Dylan in latest Betsy plot spoilers

Coronation Street fans will know that Dylan Wilson is set to be attacked and rushed to hospital next week, as Betsy Swain’s stroke storyline takes another twist.

It was speculated that the assailant might be someone who wanted revenge on Dylan for his involvement in Betsy’s current situation, but now a clip from Tuesday’s episode has been released by ITV — and it tells us exactly who the attacker is.

In the scene, Dylan is walking along when Lauren Bolton comes up behind him, accusing him of wanting to hurt Betsy.

He insists that she asked him to strangle her during sex, but she doesn’t believe him, stating that he sees women as “playthings” and cuts his cheek as she gives him a slap.

As she lays into him, she pushes him backwards and he falls to the ground.

Lauren calls his name but when he doesn’t respond, she panics and does a runner.

Further spoilers for the week reveal that Nina Lucas is the one who finds Dylan and calls for an ambulance.

Once in hospital, dad Sean Tully tries to get his son to reveal who attacked him. When Dylan doesn’t reveal that it’s Lauren, Sean wrongly deduces that it’s Brody Michaelis and decides to confront him.

Meanwhile, Lauren has a falling out with Betsy herself over her theory that Dylan hurt her on purpose.

Next week’s scenes will also see Cassie Plummer depart after three years on the Cobbles, while Nina’s own exit isn’t far off.
