Baylen Out Loud: Baylen’s Take on the Wedding Wine Is Absolutely Unhinged

Wine Tasting at the Wedding Venue

Baylen and Colin’s wedding prep hit another milestone when they headed to their venue, Airlie, to finalise the drinks menu. They’d already sorted a lot — Mac and Cheese variations, the queso fountain, tacos — but now it was time for the wine, and the couple approached the task with their usual energy: Colin enthusiastic and discerning, Baylen enthusiastic and absolutely not a wine person.

The visit also came with a side of trivia. During their food tasting session, Baylen had learned that truffles are mushrooms, not a type of chocolate. Progress. Now she was about to learn something else about herself: she has a very unusual palate when it comes to Pinot Noir.

The Rental Car Review

Colin tried the red wine first. He liked it. Baylen took a sip, made a face, and then did her best to put words to what she was experiencing. What came out was: it tasted like the seat of a brand new rental car.

Not oak. Not tannins. Not dark cherry. A rental car seat. Colin, to his credit, just nodded and kept sipping. Baylen wasn’t wrong that the description made zero sense — she acknowledged it herself — but it was so specific and so Baylen that it’s hard to argue with.

The moment tracks with everything we know about her and alcohol. At a mixology class earlier in the season, the smell of spirits alone made her physically gag. The wine didn’t produce quite the same reaction — no dramatic tic-out, which she noted as a win — but it’s fair to say Baylen and wine are not a love story in the making.

The Mac and Cheese Decision Remains Open

The drinks weren’t the only thing still up in the air. After sampling multiple mac and cheese variations, the couple still hadn’t locked in a favourite. They know they want it on the menu — that part is decided — but which version makes the final cut is a conversation ongoing. Given the queso fountain is also confirmed, guests at this wedding are going to be very well fed.

Baylen and Colin made a joke about it themselves: with the amount of cheese they’re planning to serve, guests will be “constipated for days.” An honest warning, and possibly the best wedding disclaimer in TLC history.

What’s Coming Up

The midseason trailer for Baylen Out Loud Season 3 teased that there’s still a lot ahead. Baylen and Colin are reportedly planning a move to Myrtle Beach for his career — a decision that Sammi isn’t happy about, and that’s causing tension with Baylen’s family who worry about her being far from her support system.

The trailer also hinted at Baylen opening up about her endometriosis diagnosis and how her tics worsen when she travels or misses medication. And then there’s the wedding day itself, which the preview suggests will bring its own wave of stress — with Colin staying steady beside her through all of it.

If the wine tasting is any indication, the wedding episode is going to be one for the books.
