Speaking about leaving the show at the time, Jason said: “People think I’m an absolute idiot for leaving Waterloo Road, but hopefully I’ll prove them wrong. It wasn’t an easy decision, but you have to take risks and spice things up a bit. I love Tom and my last day on set was very emotional.”

And prove them wrong he certainly did. Since departing Waterloo Road, Jason has barely been off our screens.

He joined the wildly popular Brassic — starring alongside former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan — and delivered gripping performances in drama series Four Lives and Innocent, where he played a pivotal role that left viewers stunned.

He’s also popped up in mystery favourite Death In Paradise and forensic drama Silent Witness, cementing his reputation as one of the most reliable character actors in British TV.
